FWIW, In a likely questionably valid process I took the liberty of doing a multiplier of all the margin rates by the approval rates by the percentages of voters giving each issue their highest concern/regard the following numbers :
.021
.0513
.0308
.0027
-.0021
-.0008
-.021
-.0342
-.0087
-.0539
-0585
Summing those results leads to an overall (I project) margin favoring Dems of 7.26% when taking all the cited issues into consideration.
What worries me is that a majority of the people who focused on cost-of-living issue during the last election were ignorant of how the economy works and how it was actually doing. They focus on current prices, and not, say, real prices or real wages. They vote based on a whim. They may chose to vote D in the midterms and the next general, but they have the patience of a 5 year old. It will take years to right the ship of state in all areas, including the economy. Far too long for today's Trump base. So 2 months into 2029 they'll be going "Why aren't things better yet? You said things would be better!", and will vote R in the very next election.
Because, sadly, too many American voters are historically illiterate.
They are also politically illiterate.
And they are economically illiterate, except when it comes to their own family budget, which is why it is so ironic that Trump is disproportionately harming his own voters, and betting that they're not going to notice.
It's a lose-lose situation for Republicans. They can keep putting the guy with zero impulse control in front of people. Or they can try and hide him from the public and make it look like he's in Biden-esque decline.
My hope is that more Republicans outside the core of sycophants surrounding Trump will try and distance themselves from him. Credit where it's due here: many Indiana Republicans did an eminently brave and moral thing yesterday.
This is all so puzzling, because the Trump track record in business and politics was notable for its rich, generous and effective record of championing the common man and getting chickens into their pots.

Why isn't "erosion of democracy" one of the polling options for what's most important to voters???

He is in far more than Biden-esque decline, MUCH more, and it's getting harder and harder to ignore for those who insist on doing so.
Yes, that was a good sign. Maybe the resistance is starting to grow a spine. I guess they figure they can slip it past him while he’s napping.

I'm certain it's Joe Biden's fault...
