Proud to buy your book.

Appreciate your emphasis on objectivity, not neutrality.

That is how we empirically derive TRUTH and REALITY.

Keep up the good work!

Thankfully, we have an excellent representation of the Jan. 6th events from the live-streams of the insurrectionists themselves.

ProPublica compiled and organized all of this rather well: https://projects.propublica.org/parler-capitol-videos/

Thank you. Well said. These people were and are traitors. Simply because another traitor pardons them, it doesn't make either of then any less a traitor to our country and our Constitution.

Once again, I must thank you Mr. Morris for saying what needs to be said when those who SHOULD be saying it are not.

For the sake of freedom, democracy and basic human decency the doctrine of "fair and balanced" MUST END!!!!!

The job of journalism isn't to be fair ... the SACRED duty of journalism is to be honest.

After all, if you're not being honest, then everything else is a lie.

It's depressing that this needs to be said, but it most definitely does and I'm glad you said it. It's also depressing that some members of the Fourth Estate don't realize that "a bias toward democracy" is also crucial to their profession.

Sometimes I imagine an alien, opaque, black dome descending on New York City.

It covers roughly all of lower Manhattan, and is taller than the tallest buildings.

It's impenetrable, but mostly innocuous. People trapped under it can still breathe somehow, and there's plenty of oxygen, etc...

NPR runs a story on the mysterious dome, giving all the observable details. There's video, plenty of firsthand accounts, but obviously the world is stymied by what it is and why it's there. They speak to several experts from NOAA, a physicist at Caltech...

Then, in the name of balance and objectivity, they read a statement from Tom Cotton that says, "The dome is not black. It is a ham sandwich, and was placed there by antifa. It is also a hoax"

Then Michel Martin or whoever does the, "This is NPR News," and the segment is over. She sits back and takes a sip of tea, satisfied that they've covered their bases.

Right on all counts Elliott, well said. It needs to be said again and again until the ship of state is righted.

Trump is a felon. True fact. Felons commit crimes. Trump used the US military and other arms of the US Government to commit untold felonies in Venezuela. He is trying to use felonies to cover up, at best, his support and close friendship with a serial convicted pedophile, or at worst, his participation in the rape of children. And as a polity, we don't have any way to stop this felon.

Your point is central to everything we do in the ensuing years to recover from the unprecedented attack on the soul of America by some of our own citizens. Ben Franklin told us a long time ago it would not be easy to sustain a republic. He was a master of understatement. The very idea of America is, indeed, the target of eradication by the MAGA forces, as expressed very clearly in the Project 2025 prescription, now being implemented.

Mr. Morris, you are a serious part of the counterforce to this tragic process. There are many others. The fact that these loyal Americans are numerous and do not parade under a single banner is probably a blessing in disguise. There are too many varied targets for the forces of evil to attack effectively. And their inherent resilience is not vulnerable to typical political machinery. Why? Because they have a visceral understanding of what is at stake and why it matters. The Strength in Numbers community is an example.

So. We must stay the course. The action must take many forms. The "ball" will pass from one to another as circumstances dictate. This is exactly the quality of resistance that differentiated the Patriots of 1776 from the legions of regal forces loyal to a myopic royalty.

A spade is a spade is a spade. We can state that with surgical clarity without having to apologize.

I regret, as I approach my 92nd celebration of life on this planet, that our magnificent Great American Experiment is under such malevolent attack. I will leave, one of these days, knowing that the Spirit of America is, indeed, under serious threat from within and without. With my last breath, I will take heart in knowing that real Americans are on the job and they will find a way to prevail.

Their companions in this challenge are: Truth. Accuracy. Clarity. Persistence. Resilience. Responsibity. Optimism. Inventiveness. Patience.

These qualities have enabled us to honor the Idea of America for 250 years. Those who urge us to abandon that trajectory will lose. It will be painful, but they will lose.

Keep on keeping on, Mr. Morris. Yours is a cause of cosmic proportions.

In a podcast with Dean Blundell (Canadian Substacker) and Jacob Kaarsbo (former Danish intelligence analyst), Malcolm Nance (retired US intelligence) said that Trump is going to try to not have a US midterm election. Now, they were mainly talking about US threats to Greenland and what Denmark and Canada need to do to protect from the US. They were discussing how ridiculously unprepared the Trump admin is to actually occupy Greenland, but still, it was a talk about what one needs to do to protect democracy when Trump is bent on destroying it.

Best. Title. And subtitle. EVER.

And perhaps the clearest, most forthright argument outlining the importance of objective truth in holding our democracy together that I've read. This is a keeper. It's going in to my "Important" file.
