Use this spreadsheet as a resource to call/email/write members of Congress. Reach out to your own, as well as those in other states on a specific committee important to a topic you’re sharing. Use your voice and make some “good trouble.”

Nebraska and Iowa aren't too far from turning blue either, along with Ohio, Texas, Florida, and Alaska. All six currently have Republican Senators, and North Carolina, with another R Senator, is already blue. They're all up for election in 2026. What happens with the 'Pay More For Less' bill in the Senate may be an indication of how much these 7 Senators fear for their chances in the 2026 races.

The change in household income chart would have been more readable at log scale. I had to scroll down a screen just to see the rightmost bar. I note that not as a criticism, since I think it makes the point better like this. It's more along the lines of: many related charts reveal more at log scale, and that in itself is telling. We should not have this level of wealth inequality.

Excellent article with useful graphics. The WIC program is mentioned. I worked to help the WIC program get started in Minneapolis at the Community University Health Care Clinic. Not only is/was this program instrumental in infant and early childhood nutrition, it gave me the chance to take classes that led to a career in STEM where my research may help change chemo protocols and I was able to help more than 500 students get advanced degrees and good jobs with BS degrees. This is to say, the positive outcomes of this program go way beyond the measurable goals.

Thank you for this useful article and figures.

Trump's OBBB, however it emerges out of the Senate, and his manifest corruption, is the GOPs Death Star. His inhumane cruelty and grift for the Wealthiest Americans combined with pain for our poorest Americans has doomed the party.

The GOP has forgotten what so many "friends, colleagues and partners" of the president have learned. "Everything Trump Touched DIES."

Our American government and budget are for 100% of the People. Not for the richest 3%.

This ongoing "experiment" in American oligarchy will fail. Sooner we believe than later.

This is the clearest analysis I’ve seen. Can you recommend the best way to get these charts in front of our senators? We do a daily letter for a group of people, and I’d love to be able to make this our next letter…but you can’t put charts in the message, and I don’t think a link to Substack would work.
