And to think that mainstream media was screaming in 2024 about inflation, gas prices, and egg prices under Biden. That was actually a good economy and getting better. What do we have now?

No one knows why we're doing this, no one hates Canada, or sees them as an economic threat, and no one can afford any more taxes, just like we don't need and can't afford a gd ballroom.
Trump is not "distracted" from our most pressing problems. Rather, he lives in a delusion in which they do not exist for him. Ds must stop all squabbling and work to support all D candidates--since Trump is insane and refractive to psychiatric intervention, political intervention in the midterms is absolutely essential if our nation is to have any chance to survive as a democracy.
There are limited things we as individuals can do, but there is a clear first step. Not only vote, but vote against every Republican on the ballot to demonstrate to the Republican Party that the days of enabling his behavior are over and they need to rebuild their party into a responsible, adult group of elected officials that deserve our support.
I’m not even sure why we still call them Republicans. Trump conquered the Republican Party in 2015 and maintained control even after the January 6 insurrection while he was out of office. What exists in its place is more like a Russia-style oligarchy or a crime syndicate. He recognized how corrupt and weak almost every single one of them were and despite being intellectually lazy and unsophisticated in many respects, he is incredibly gifted as a demagogue, as a con artist and at exploiting his competitors’ weaknesses. If we don’t still underestimate his appetite for malice, hopefully we won’t continue to underestimate his capacity for it. He does not plan to shuffle meekly into the night.
While I would agree that Trump is the lowest point of the nation's descent into oligarchy and the worst unitary executive since King George III, electing Ronald Reagan initiated the turn from government being ideally by, for and of all the people to government being by, for, and of the kleptocrats.
