In our September poll, 52% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents disapprove of Trump's handling of prices. That could be dragging down Republican Senate candidates in red states
I think people don’t realize, yet, that their home heating oil is diesel fuel. When they start getting heating bills, before November 3, it might make a difference.
Yes farmers and truckers lean Republican - but also pickup truck owners, about 12% of which are diesel. And the other 86% that guzzle gas are getting hit hard too. EV pickups are just 2% but those owners are feeling pretty smart.
Any so we pray that recent polling is a very close indication of the midterm results. The House is in the bag. It's just a matter of how big the blue wave. Winning the Senate would be everything..
Here in Iowa there is a huge local issue that doesn't get much national media attention: fertilizer runoff. Minnesota has made Big Ag clean up its act. Iowa has not. Environmentalists have been trying to get the public to care about fertilizer runoff for many years, to little avail, but the past two summers have been a breaking point: one out of five Iowa households had lawn-watering bans because the nitrate-removal capacity of water treatment plants was not sufficient to keep up with rising nitrate levels in rivers.
And at the same as these watering bans, there were many news articles saying Iowa's cancer rates are higher than most of the USA, possibly due to agricultural pollution.
MAHA parents face a choice between culture wars and their kids.
California diesel prices are particularly important for Republicans because so many long haul truckers from all over the country have to fill up there. Sometimes it’s over $1,000 for a fill up and they are angry.

How does Trump lose MAGA?
"gradually, then all at once."
(cribbing from Hemingway, obviously.)

I believe that there is an error in the final sentence above the last chart. It reads:
Many of these are the states on that map above showing average diesel prices, especially Ohio and Iowa.
It should read:
Many of these are states on the map above showing above average diesel prices, especially Ohio and Iowa.
Also, the paragraph below the last chart is repeated.
Must have been another tough night with the new baby. Proper family planning would have put the birth after the Midterms! LOL
Do Americans need to worry that Trump will use a tactical nuclear weapon to -- as he has said -- obliterate Iran? Will the senior military agree?
Putin and Trump both getting desperate at the same time is very worrying
